# GTA 6 Extended Look Breakdown — Every Mechanic & Timestamp

An Extended Look (Aug 27, 2026, 26:49): timestamped mechanics, six-star wanted HUD, combat, robberies — each beat linked to a Map-6 hub when the terrain is readable.

> Rockstar’s An Extended Look is 26 minutes 49 seconds of official in-game PS5 footage from August 27, 2026. It confirms a six-star wanted meter with intel icons, dual-character switching in a chase, lock-picking, and a denser Leonida — not a collectible dump or a PC date. Map-6 timestamps each beat on /trailer and pairs readable frames with regional hubs.

gta6map.io shipped a clean timestamp list. Map-6’s job is the list plus geography. An Extended Look is the longest official in-game package Rockstar has posted — Netflix first on 27 August 2026, then the Rockstar YouTube upload (video tJbzMqJGH4k, 26:49). This page is the systems recap. The clickable scrub, with Map-6 hub links, lives on /trailer. We still will not invent shop names, collectible totals, or a PC date.

Timestamped beats we index (approximate until frame-verified — /trailer prefixes them with ~): Slim Jim lock-pick ~6:07; pause-map building volumes ~8:00; one-handed shotgun ~9:21; binoculars ~10:48; rooftop dialogue in Vice City ~10:50; six-star meter ~15:21; masks ~17:50; auto-holster in a store ~17:57; Lifeinvader on R3 ~18:04; instant gun swap ~18:31; Jason/Lucia switch mid-chase ~18:41; faster weapon pickups ~25:00; fishing ~25:52. Each row opens YouTube at that second and, when the shoreline or skyline is readable, a regional hub.

Wanted is the citation-grade system. Six slots return after GTA 5’s five. Hollow stars mean a crime was reported without a description. Solid means pursuit. A colour shift (white to red in the Look, after dialogue that they lost the vehicle) reads as wanted-but-not-eyed. Under the stars: pair, clothes, face, vehicle — four icons on screen. CCTV is preview language, not a fifth guaranteed glyph in that chase. Interactive HUD: /guides/gta-6-wanted-system.

Combat and robberies are trade-offs, not stat sheets. Previews describe lethal vs joint markers, one-handed guns, and an instant two-weapon swap without the wheel. Robberies: masks from the item wheel, weapons holster as you enter a store, and a speed-versus-value safe choice in press writeups. Map-6 will not publish damage numbers or mission titles from a compressed frame.

Cars are no longer free. Older vehicles take a Slim Jim timing minigame. Higher-end security and a scan-before-you-steal app appear in preview coverage (WAINK / key cloner). The Look itself shows the vehicle intel icon dropping when Jason and Lucia change cars. That is enough to write a systems sentence. It is not enough to invent a lock-tier table.

Scale stays labeled. Rockstar has not printed km². Preview language repeated by GamesRadar and creators (TGG) puts Leonida around twice GTA 5 and three times Red Dead Redemption 2, with Vice City itself about twice Los Santos. Community reconstructions still wander between ~83 km² (older leak-image math) and ~125 km² (later mapping). We print those as estimates on /guides/gta-6-map-size — not as a Rockstar spec. The Look’s job for a map site is more time in the seven hubs: Vice City, Ocean Drive, Keys, Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Ambrosia, Mount Kalaga.

What the Look did not do: publish collectible totals, a PC window, cross-saves, or official district borders. Reported-but-not-official numbers we refuse to promote as facts include a console 30 FPS claim from a hands-off session and an 80-hour campaign length from one designer’s playthrough. Those belong in a caveat paragraph, not a headline.

How to use Map-6 with this page: keep /trailer and /map in two tabs. Filter Landmarks. When a beat has a hub link, Share a deep link instead of a Discord crop. Creators: /overlay?theme=streamer and a ref= tag. Geography recap from official frames only: /news/gta-6-extended-look-live-notes. How-to-watch leftovers (Netflix window, +6 h YouTube): /guides/gta-6-extended-look-how-to-watch.

## What the Look actually changed — sourced, not Discord math

| System | What is on screen / official | What we will not claim |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Wanted meter | Six star slots; hollow vs solid; intel icons (pair, clothes, face, vehicle) | A complete colour-state table or CCTV as a guaranteed fifth icon |
| Combat | One-handed guns, instant two-gun swap, faster pickups, body-aware aiming in previews | Damage numbers, weapon names, or a full perk tree |
| Robberies | Masks from the item wheel; weapons holster in stores; speed vs value trade-off in press | Safe HP, payout tables, or named heist missions |
| Vehicles | Slim Jim timing minigame on older cars; WAINK / key-cloner language in previews | A full security-tier list or fence prices |
| Map size | More in-game time in named biomes; studio/preview talk of ~2× GTA 5 and 3× RDR2 | A published km² figure from Rockstar |
| Activities | Basketball, fishing, diving, racing, gym, and more in the montage | A complete 100% activity checklist |

## FAQ

### How long is the GTA 6 Extended Look?

The official Rockstar YouTube upload runs 26 minutes 49 seconds. Netflix premiered it first on August 27, 2026; YouTube and rockstargames.com/VI followed the same day. Map-6 does not invent a different runtime.

### Does the Extended Look confirm six wanted stars?

Yes — the HUD shows six star slots during the chase. The smarter change is hollow vs solid stars and the intel row under the meter. See the wanted-system guide and the ~15:21 beat on /trailer.

### Where can I watch each timestamp on the map?

Open /trailer. Each Extended Look beat jumps to the official YouTube offset (the upload is age-restricted, so it cannot embed). When the terrain is readable, the same row links a Map-6 hub.
