There is no official GTA 6 PC system-requirements table. Rockstar has not published minimum, recommended, or 4K presets for Windows. Any page that presents a GPU SKU as “the Rockstar recommended card” is editorializing — or inventing. This Map-6 guide gives anticipated ranges so you can plan a budget conversation. Every number below is unofficial. When Rockstar posts real specs, we replace the ranges. Until then, treat YouTube “LEONIDA ULTRA 8K” charts as entertainment.
Why ranges exist at all: GTA V’s current PC builds already ask for a large SSD install and a mid-range modern GPU if you want high settings at 1080p, and recent open-world AAA titles have drifted toward 16 GB as a cautious RAM floor and 32 GB as the comfortable multitasking ceiling. That is context, not a port of GTA 6’s unreleased renderer. Use it to avoid buying a 2018 6 GB card and calling it “future proof.” Do not use it as a shopping list Rockstar signed.
Unofficial conversation starters — not Rockstar minimums. 1080p / 60 fps class talk in 2026 usually clusters around last-generation 12 GB mid-range GPUs (the RTX 3060 12 GB / Radeon 6700 XT conversation), a modern 6-core CPU (Ryzen 5 5600 / Core i5-12400 class), 16 GB RAM, and a fast NVMe with a lot of free space. 1440p high-settings talk usually moves to current upper mid-range GPUs (RTX 4070 / 7800 XT class), a stronger 8-core-class CPU, and 32 GB RAM. 4K talk is high-end current silicon and unpublished. If your machine is below the 1080p band, assume you will lower settings or wait — do not assume a magic “Rockstar well optimized” tweet.
Storage is the spec you can act on without a PC date. Console GTA 6 will live on machines built around fast internal SSDs; a future PC build that installs the same world on a dying SATA platter is a bad bet. Rockstar has not published a PC download size. GTA V’s current footprint is already past the old “50 GB is huge” era — plan a large NVMe and leave headroom for patches and captures. Filling a 512 GB boot drive to the last gigabyte is how installs fail. If you play on console in 2026 while you wait for PC, the same storage lesson applies: see /guides/best-setup-gta-6-ps5-xbox for console-compatible SSD and expansion-card thinking.
Displays and audio are living-room decisions, not PC-Q waiting rooms. A 120 Hz HDMI 2.1 panel helps console performance modes if and when Rockstar ships them on 19 November 2026; it will still be a good monitor when a PC version arrives. You do not need OLED to enjoy Vice City. You do need the cable in the correct HDMI port and Game Mode on. A wireless headset that works on the console you actually own matters more than a phantom “PC 7.1 for Lucia’s footsteps” SKU. Those intents — storage, display, headset — are the honest hardware funnel on this page while PC requirements are unpublished.
What this page will not do: recommend a console upgrade as if it were a PC part, invent VRAM floors as official, or list collector-edition GPU bundles Rockstar has not sold. If you need the “should I buy a PS5 or Series X to play in 2026” ticket, that is /guides/gta-6-ps5-vs-xbox plus /guides/best-setup-gta-6-ps5-xbox — not a hidden console_upgrade pitch disguised as a spec sheet. PC wait and console-now can coexist: keep the desktop for 2027-or-whenever, kit the TV for November.
Do not treat community spreadsheets as certification. Datamines, fake benchmark tables, and “my cousin at Rockstar” CPU lists are how people return 4090s in January. Map-6 will not host a leak spec PDF. If a number cannot be traced to a Rockstar or Take-Two page, it stays labeled unofficial here — including every range in the paragraph above. When official PC requirements appear, they may be higher, lower, or shaped by upscalers we have not seen. Budget a buffer; do not marry a SKU.
The 2026 play path is still consoles. If you want day-one Leonida, lock a PS5 or Xbox Series SKU via /guides/gta-6-preorder-guide and spend remaining cash on SSD headroom, a spare controller, a headset, and a 120 Hz-ready display. If you refuse consoles, your job is patience plus a sane PC — not a midnight GPU scalper refresh. Either path can use /map this week. Neither path is improved by a fake “minimum RTX 5080” headline.
Map literacy does not need a 4K preset. Open /map, filter Landmarks, match trailer neon and causeways, copy HUD coordinates, and read /locations hubs. GTADB-attributed community tiles (CC BY 4.0 where noted) back the basemap; speculation stays labeled. A mid-range laptop browser runs Map-6; you do not need the unofficial 1440p band to learn where Port Gellhorn sits relative to Ambrosia. Save the silicon budget for an official PC page — or for the console you will actually turn on in November.
Creators waiting on PC: capture cards, overlay URLs, and Share deep links are documented in the clip-kit guide. Streaming a console feed in 2026 while you wait for a PC port is normal. Do not promise chat a Steam build. Do not overlay fake spec tables. Credit Map-6 as fan-made and GTADB under CC BY 4.0 when you discuss the basemap on camera.
