Why Ocean Drive matters

Ocean Drive is the postcard strip of Vice City in Grand Theft Auto VI—neon hotels, palm-lined asphalt, and beachfront nightlife that dominate official trailers. If you are matching footage to a map, start here before you chase inland blocks or wilderness biomes. The strip is visually dense: pastel façades, continuous waterfront roadway, and cuts between glassy towers and tighter streets.

Open the Ocean Drive location page or jump straight to the interactive map. Primary keyword: ocean drive gta 6.

Context: trailer geography, not a tourist brochure

Rockstar has shown enough Ocean Drive energy across trailers for community mappers to treat it as a first-class Leonida landmark. That does not mean every neon sign in a trailer has a confirmed in-game store name, opening hours, or mission marker. Map-6 labels speculation. Confirmed trailer geography earns a pin and a regional blurb; invented shop directories do not.

Cross-check frames against the Vice City guide and the regional Vice City page. For state-wide context, read Leonida regions explained and the lore overview.

Trailer cues to pause on

When Rockstar footage shows the strip, look for:

  • Pastel and neon hotel façades facing the water
  • Continuous beachfront roadway with palm silhouettes
  • Night lighting that reads as nightlife corridor rather than quiet residential
  • Cuts from glassy towers to tighter inland blocks (district transitions)
  • Vehicle traffic patterns along the waterfront that help you orient north/south on stills

If the biome suddenly becomes mangroves, causeways, or forested elevation, you have left Ocean Drive energy—switch hubs on Map-6 instead of forcing the strip label.

Verified facts vs speculation

Claim Status
Ocean Drive–style beachfront appears in official trailers Confirmed (visual)
Exact hotel/business names for every façade Unconfirmed unless Rockstar labels them
Precise pin coordinates on Map-6 Editorial / community-informed — subject to revision
Mission scripts set on the strip Speculation until shown

What Map-6 users should do

  1. Filter the map to Landmarks.
  2. Search Ocean / Vice and open pins that match your still.
  3. Copy the HUD X/Y if you share a Discord tip (Privacy Policy).
  4. Bookmark the Ocean Drive URL so Trailer 3 (whenever Rockstar releases it—date unconfirmed) is one click away.
  5. Use the trailer watch checklist so Ocean Drive is one row in a full scrub list.
  6. After matching stills, skim guides for Vice City walkthroughs—not leak calendars.

How Ocean Drive connects to the rest of Leonida

Ocean Drive sits in the broader Vice City metro story. Trailer cuts often bounce from the strip to downtown skyline, then to Keys causeways or wetlands. Mark transitions: if you mis-file a Keys shot as Ocean Drive, your X/Y notes become useless. Keep Leonida Keys and Grassrivers tabs ready for those jumps.

What we will not invent

Exact store names, mission scripts, or “confirmed” interiors Rockstar has not shown. We will not invent a Trailer 3 calendar either—see Trailer 3: what we know.
