Platform confusion is how scams and wasted pre-orders happen. The official launch set is simple: Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. That sentence is the whole confirmed board. Everything else — PC day-one, Switch 2 rumors, Android APKs, last-gen ports — stays in the unannounced column until Rockstar or Take-Two move it.
Preload starts November 12, 2026 at local midnight for eligible digital editions; physical Standard (code in box, no disc) is slated to be available from that date so you can redeem and preload. Preload is not early access. Details: Rockstar Support “Platforms, Editions, and Versions” and gta-6-release-date.
PC players: gta-6-pc-requirements walks through what can and cannot be inferred about specs from an unannounced port. Console buyers: gta-6-ps5-vs-xbox for ecosystem lock-in. If a stranger offers you a “PC build” or a beta key, gta-6-scam-watch covers how that scam runs.
Store listings can mention PS5 Pro Enhanced or similar marketing. That is not a separate game and not a reason to panic-buy a Pro if your current PS5 is healthy. Cross-generation play and cross-saves are not announced.
Map-6 remains the same interactive Leonida layer on every confirmed SKU. Open /map, filter Landmarks, read /locations hubs. Geography does not care which store icon you tap.
We revise this status board when official channels add a platform. Until then, “GTA 6 platforms” should resolve to two consoles and a clearly labeled TBD — not a hopeful PC countdown.
